  1. What resources do I need on my computer to use OWHosting's web hosting services?
    You do not need anything more than a personal computer with Internet access. If you do not have an FTP program installed, no need to worry there are plenty of free ones out there or you can use the built-in FTP program available in OWHosting's CPanel, web-based control panel.
  2. Does OWHosting offer 24 hour technical support?
    Yes! OWHosting offers 24 x 7 x 365 support via our online e-service system, and telephone support is available for emergencies. We are always here to help you no matter what time day or night you need us.
  3. Does OWHosting support Microsoft FrontPage and FrontPage server extensions?
    Yes, OWHosting supports FP 2003 extensions on all of our web hosting packages.
  4. What are types of databases does OWHosting support?
    OWHosting's professional and e-commerce hosting plans come configured for mySQL with phpMyAdmin for simple database creation, import, set up and editing.
  5. Will I have unlimited access to my site for updates?
    Yes. You have unlimited access via FTP or our web-based control panel 24 hours a day 365 days a year. As such, you can create and maintain your web pages on your own computer and upload files to your website any time you wish.
  6. Can additional domains be pointed to my main domain?
    Yes. We can forward (park) additional domains to point to your master domain. There is a $36.00CDN per year charge for each domain you add as an alias.
  7. Can I host domains in the sub-directory of my account?
    No, we could offer this option to our clients however there is no reason to we can create redirects or provide you with a second basic account for each domain you wish to host with us.. - Top
  8. Can you host foreign domain names?
    We host domains from many countries around the world. The only limitation is that of the domain registrar (a few countries do not allow geographic domains to be hosted outside their country).
  9. What are your Network capabilities?
    Our clients are hosted on our fiber optic network, which connects to the Internet through redundant OC-3 multi-homed connections. This high-speed connectivity combined with exceptionally fast and reliable Pentium 4 servers, guarantee fast access to all websites.

    No, you will need to contact your local Internet Service Provider (ISP) for local dial-up access to the Internet. We want to focus on what we're good at, and that's websites, not internet access.     OWHosting's hosting packages come with Webalizer web statistics included free on every domain.
  15. What about accepting credit cards, can I do it securely?
    If you would like to accept credit card orders on your site, OWHosting offers the E-Commerce hosting package. The E-Commerce hosting provides each domain with a totally separate SSL secured area just waiting for your certificate to be installed.
  16. Do you maintain backups of my data?
    We backup our server on a weekly basis. However, OWHosting and Orion's Web are not responsible to maintain backups of your website or it's databases. You should maintain your own local offsite backups of all your data and update them regularly.
  17. Can I access my domain without the "www" in front?
    Yes. You will be able to access your domain address with or without the "www" in front of the domain name. Example: [http://www.your-name.com] or [http://your-name.com] is acceptable, whichever you prefer.
  18. How long does it take to set-up a new account?
    New accounts will take from 1 to 18 hours from the time we receive your order. Once your account is set-up, you will be emailed your Account Login information (User ID, Password & FTP hostname) to help you get started. You can immediately start uploading files to your new website.
  19. Can I compile programs written in Java, C and C++?
    No, due to the security issues involved with allowing applications to be compiled on the server we do not allow this.
